Statistics indicate that 89% of marriages end in divorce when a spouse is incarcerated for a year or more.
When a spouse or parent is incarcerated, family members are separated by the physical distance and phone restrictions imposed upon them. The absence of a family member at birthdays, bar and bat mitzvahs, anniversaries, graduations, and holidays, is unbearable. Illness and death occur without the chance for parents to say goodbye to their children.
In an effort to keep families united, Aleph arranges the following:

Assistance with airfares, bus trips, and hotel accommodations
- Marriage Counseling and Family Therapy
Helps families acknowledge and manage stress

Gifts that are sent to family members on behalf of inmates Monetary gifts that family members can send to loved ones in prison
- Family Time
Concerts, lectures, and therapeutic sessions for loved ones to have family time together (project under development)
